FOLLOWING MY DREAMS!!

I wanted to share a brief post to updated you on what I've been up to. Over the past few months I've been working on a design. I always felt the desire to design but fear kept me from doing it. You know, the what if's. Well finally, thanks to the encouragement and help from a few friends I took the plunge. I designed a shawl. I originally thought this shawl would be made for a bride. As I began to work the design and use this beautiful yarn, the simplicity and flow made it clear that the shawl could be worn anytime. I love all things sparkly and Miss Babs Estrellita Fingering Weight yarn was the perfect choice. missbabs.com Simplicity is a fast and fun knit. It can be made with different weight yarns but know that will effect the size. The orange shawl in the picture below was done by Dixie @knitter101 using Circulo's Cotton Jeans Lite yarn. Once I loaded SIMPLICITY onto Ravelry.com and pushed the activate button the nerves really began. I didn't sleep all night. The reception from everyone was very positive. So many people shared my post, wrote encouraging messages and purchased my pattern. Miss Babs did a really nice post on Instagram and included me in her November newsletter. I was on cloud nine. It was the icing on my birthday cake. I turned 73 a couple of days before. I am so happy to be a part of this fiber community. This has encouraged me to continue following my dreams and design a garment. I hope to write patterns that are fun, relaxing, beautiful and easy to follow like my favorite designer @Casapinka. So for anyone out there with a dream follow it. It's never to late.
